About ul. Chmielna, a great place for shopping in Warsaw.
When you come to Warsaw, be sure to take the time to wander down ul. Chmielna. It is one of those streets that is somewhat off the beaten track, even though it is in the center of town.
The shops and restaurants generally cater to Warsaw residents so when you visit one of them you generally get local prices. And you get a different product selection than you do in the hotels and in the Old Town. ( Do be sure to look at our video and information on the Warsaw Old Town.)
Chmielna is right in the center of town. Finding it, however, is a little difficult because one end of it is hidden behind the department store Domus Centrum. Here is a picture of what you see from the rondo in the Warsaw Centrum. (See our video and information on the Warsaw Centrum.) Go behind the buildings to find the head of the street.

The other end of Chmielna is on Nowy Swiat. ( Do be sure to look at our video and information about Nowy Swiat. ) It almost looks like an alley. That is probably why so many people miss it.
