Warsaw Christmas Village Draws Thousands
The annual transition of Warsaw's Old Town Market Square into a Christmas Village draws thousands of Polish people a day to an otherwise winter gray and comparatively winter empty tourist attraction.

The Christmas Village serves up those things that make it attractive for Polish families to brave the cold and spend an afternoon outdoors. Filled with stands offering Polish favorite foods, gifts and glitter with ample entertainment all set in an already colorful surrounding now decorated with Christmas lights, the village entices people to go from display to display, buying, eating and just enjoying themselves.
Though most active on weekends when Polish families make special effort to do things together, those tourists in town looking for something to do, find their way there.
And then, with the absolutely beautiful light displays in and around the Old Town, it fills once again evenings as people come to town to see the City lit up for the Christmas Holidays. ( See Warsaw Christmas Lights with a video of the display. )
The village provides entertainment for the people, business for those having displays and foot traffic, with the attendant sales for the permanent Old Town business owners.
Even when the snow and ice makes life outdoors very uncomfortable, people flock to the village.
If you are coming to Warsaw, be sure to visit the Warsaw Old Town. In spite of the cold, it is alive, well and active.
