Poland - It Takes 13 In Management To Run 20 Worker Polish Company

Warsaw, Poland - 10 June, 2008   A subsidiary of the Polish Post Office needs 9 board members and 4 managers to run a company of 20 workers that print about 2000 magazines per month.

The information was revealed to the public in the local Polish Daily, Gazeta Wyborcza under a telling headline Pocztowa kasa PiS that translates as "Postal cashbox of PIS".

The former president of the company, now on sick leave, revealed that the company receives 4 million zloty per year from the Polish Post Office. But it only costs about 1.9 million to print the magazine. The remainder of the money is used for such things as cars and expenses, much of which is spend by the 13 non worker staff.

Management of the company is reportedly made up of supporters of Former Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski such as Antoni Macierewicz and his former associates in the Polish Government's WSI Verification Commission.

The spokesman for the Polish Post says that the company does more than print magazines. It does leasing and marketing.

Currently Polish Post workers are on strike for more pay. Poland - Strike Paralyses Polish Post Offices
