Polish Television Investigating Advertisement About Changing Poland
Warsaw, Poland 29 October, 2007 The Government of Jaroslaw Kaczynski has been promoting changing the way Poland has been run since 1989. But he and his supporters object to an advertisement run on Polish Public Television that encouraged people to get out and vote to "change Poland" and the Television's management is hunting the person who approved the advertisement.
The advertisement was run on other stations as well as Public Television and was part of a general campaign to get people out to vote.
The State Election Board ruled that the advertisement did not promote a particular party and was even allowed to be run during the election campaign blackout that was in force on Saturday.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, after the election, complained about a general media campaign against him and his party. And he voiced particular concern about the advertisement on Public Television to "change Poland." He said it was an advertisement that meant the Government should be changed.
The ad was sponsored by a group of NGO's, and according to the advertising agency that created it, it was designed to get the young out to vote.
According to reports, Urbanski has launched an internal investigation to find who approved the ad for publication.
There have been concerns that under Urbanski news not beneficial to the Kaczynski Law And Justice Party is ignored or slanted. Poland's Prime Minister Used Polish TV For Political Propaganda
The OECD issued a press release that said that television coverage by Public Television was unbalanced.
Urbanski, a trusted advisor to the Polish President, was appointed in February 2007 for was said to be for a temporary period until someone else could be found to replace him.The Government Moves To Control Polish Television

There is no information if the person who approved for airing a paid advertisement that the State Election Board ruled was party neutral and could be aired during the election news blackout would be disciplined.
