Noticeable Increased Security On Warsaw Poland's Metro
Classified Polnews
For the past several days there has been a noticeable increase in security on the Metro in Warsaw, Poland. On each of the station platforms in this Polish capital city there have been teams of at least two police officers and others have been riding the trains.

Polish Metro Station
It has always been normal to see some police making visits to metro stations and riding the trains. But the number that have been around the Metro is in sharp contrast to the normal numbers.
The police have not tried to may themselves inconspicuous. They dress with the yellow reflective vests and pay close attention to the people on the platform.
At the Centrum Station two have been on the second level looking down onto the crowds while another two are on the platform.
All the stations have extensive security camera systems that are remotely monitored. But something caused police officials to put uniforms on the platform.
It was reported last week that a Palestinian, who was possibly involved in some plan for terrorism in Poland, was arrested. It is not known if this arrest had anything to do with the sudden increase and visibility of police in and around the Warsaw, Metro. See Palestinian arrested in Poland for alleged al-Qaeda links
There may be, of course, other circumstances that have caused the police to increase the attention they are paying to the Metro system.
Whatever the reason, however, some people find it comforting to see the police; whether they are needed or not.
