Poland's Education Minister Empties Desk In Polish Government Battle

Poland's Minister of Education, Roman Giertych, emptied his desk, left on it a letter of resignation and went on vacation. He says that he will not be back to the Ministry.

Giertych said that the Prime Minister is looking for a pretext to dissolve the coalition. And his party's Vice Chairman Wojciech Wierzejski said in an interview with the Polish News Daily Zycie Warszawa that there is a 90% probability that the Prime Minister is trying to break up the coalition. Giertych left his letter of resignation on his desk and said that if the Prime Minister wants it, he can take it.

Poland's coalition Government has been embroiled in turmoil ever since it was formed. Jaroslaw Kaczynski has virtually threatened new elections since his party came into power. The latest threat comes as he laid down conditions for the coalition's minor party members to meet for the cation to continue.
