Shakeup in Poland As New Political Party Splits Polish Government
Warsaw, Poland 19 April 2007 Former Speaker of the Polish Parliament Marek Jurek has announced that he will form a new political party. He will take members from Poland Prime Minister Kaczynski's Law And Justice Party. The plan is to have the new party cooperate with Law And Justice.
The party will be a Christian conservative party that will promote the civilization of life.

Jurek sees PIS as a natural partner and wants to cooperate with it and be part of the Government Coalition.
According to a Pentor poll run for the weekly "Wprost", the new party would get 10%, PO 27,4%, PiS 17,8%, SLD And Democrats 7,9%, Samoobrona 6,8%, LPR 4,9% and PSL 4,4%.
The first members of the new party are Artur Zawisza, Marian Pilka, Malgorzata Bartyzel and Dariusz Kleczek.
For a new parliamentary club to be formed, 15 members must join the club. There is no news about who else will join Jurek.
