Warsaw, Poland 18 April 2007 Poland and Ukraine have been chosen to host the Euro 2012 Football Championships.
The competion was between Italy, Croatia and Hungary as a group and Poland and Ukraine. Others had been eliminated on technical grouds such as not filing the proper paperwork on time.
Being chosen gives Poland a big boost and opportunity.
It must build stadiums and it must also build the supporting infrastructure to support its obligations.
The main cities in Poland supporting the events will be Warsaw, Poznan, Gdansk, and Wroclaw. Chorzow and Krakow will also participate to a lesser degree.
It will also help the travel industry and bring more people into the country for the first time.
