Poland's Speaker Confirms His Decision To Leave The Ruling Polish Coalition Party

The Speaker of the Polish Parliament confirmed today his decision to leave Poland's ruling coalition party Law and Justice.

After meeting yesterday for two hours with Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski and reassuring statements by Marek Kuchczynski, Head of the PIS Parliamentary Club, that Jurek was staying, Jurek announced late this morning that he would hold with his decision to leave Law and Justice Party.
Malgorzata Bartyzel will leave with him. She said that on Friday she did not think that it would go this far. But there is no compromise possible between Kaczynski and Jurek. See Marek Jurek nie wraca do PiS
The Parliament will vote at the next meeting whether or not to accept Jurek's resignation as Speaker.
