Poland's Minister Of Justice Wants Head Of Polish Consitutional Court Changed

The Polish Government's attack on the Consititional Court of Poland took another step forward as the Minisiter of Justice called for its President to resign.

The Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro, had been criticized by the President of the Constitutional Court, Jerzy Stepien, for his public prounouncements related to people arrested in high profile, staged events. See Television Justice
The Prime Minister, Jaroslaw Kaczynski defended Ziobro and said that Stepien had gone too far. But a former President of the Court, Marek Sajfan, commented that what Ziobro was doing was jeapordizing the rights of the people to a proper trial.

This call comes soon after Prime Minister's call to restructure the Court after it ruled differently than he wanted on a recent case on the local election law.
Members of the Prime Minister's party have also attacked the Court's ruling on the election law as a political ruling. See No Respect For The Court
The Prime Minister is taking fire for his attempts to control the Court. Andrzej Zoll, a former head of the Constituional Tribunal, slammed Kaczynski and called for his resignation.
