Missile Shield On Polish Soil Or Partition Poland Again?
Warsaw, Poland 16 March, 2007 The Russian and European efforts to force Poland into multilateral negotiations on the missle shield are nothing more than an attempt at a modern form of partitioning Poland and keeping the Polish people under the Russian/European spheres of influence. They want to limit Poland's independence as a nation.
Europe is weak and afraid of Russia. Its defence capability is nil. It needs Russian business. It needs Russian Oil. It is willing to partition Poland for its own ends.
Europeans are offering that Poland can be part of the European Union economic zone, for some purposes, but it must still be under the Russian sphere of influence and subject to the economics of Russian oil. But Poland cannot make its own decisions on defense. It has to get permission from the West as well as Russia.
Poland has always been a buffer between Europe and Russia. European and Russian armies marched across and used it plains for warfare. And the Europeans don't want to change that.
So they are content to divvy up Poland between the groups rather than to create a new post Cold War balance of power. Poland will just have to stay under control and learn its real place in the European Union. As a border country.
And borders are suddenly very important to the Europeans. They are afraid that putting the missile base in Poland will establish a new border between the East and the West.
What was the old border? The Polish/German border?
Missiles from the Middle East know no borders. And the missle threat to Europe from the Middle East is real.
The threat to the Russians from 10 interceptor missiles, or even 100 interceptor missiles, is essentially nonexistent when compared to the thousands of warheads that the Russians have. The technology makes the missiles useless against stopping anything launched from Russia.

The Europeans know that but they just can't let themselves consider Poland free. Poland has to be kept under control.
Poland can agree or not agree to the missle's. But it should make that decision on its own.
Should Poland give into German and NATO country demands to have the decisions made by them rather than the sovereign government of Poland, Poland will be giving up its sovereignty. It will be consenting, once again, to a partition.
