Poland: Adam Malysz wins his fourth gold and the Polish people celebrate

Classified Polnews

Warsaw, Poland 4 March, 2007   Poland's Adam Malysz won his fourth Gold Medal yesterday with a fantastic display of form and class. His jumps of 102 and 99.5 meters in the Normal Hill jumps at the Nordic ski world championships once again electrified the Polish people.

The whole of Poland celebrated in his victory. Polish President Kaczynski sent his congratulations.

His first jump of 102 meters put the pressure on the rest of the field of competitors. And it gave him the opportunity to concentrate on style and maximizing points on the second jump.

When he took to the air on his second jump it was obvious to Malysz watchers that he had a good jump in progress. He had that little extra lean into the jump that one sees when he is on. And Malysz watchers were not disappointed. His distance was good and his landing was a sight to see.

Malysz commented that the path back to the top was hard. His form had not been the best when he had been spending more time enjoying life and not totally concentrating on jumping. But once he began concentrating he started winning again.

Commentators believe that if he maintains his form he can move to the top of the overall point standings where he is currently fourth as a result of less than stellar performances early in the season.

But he is back to form and experts think he can hold his form while his competitors may falter.

Let us hope for the best for all jumpers. The competition is exciting for all to watch.
