Will America Support Poland or Europe If They Need Help?

Classified Polnews

The taking of British hostages by Iran gives the US Congress chance to express support for the British. But House Leader Nancy Pelosi is preventing that from happening. Is that a sign of what Poland and Europe can expect if either has other problems?

A resolution has been proposed in the House of Representatives that condemns Iran for the seizure of British sailors and marines, expresses support for our British allies. It's hard to see anything controversial in that. But apparently, the resolution has languished all week while Pelosi refuses to allow it to come to the floor. The Ameriphobia that is rampant in Europe is not unseen in America. It is having effects that many Europeans probably do not see.

And in America, many are saying that it is not up to America to solve the world's problems. Governments and countries should be left to do it themselves.

Iraq is classic example. The Democratically controlled Congress wants the US to pull out and let the Middle East solve its own problems.

What many in Europe do not see it that that is a more general attitude. And that Europe is no different than Iraq.

Many feel that the European Union should start taking care of its own house and if it can't, it is not up to America to step in and help.

The American anti-war faction that supports the Democratic party is just that. It means no war. No Nato. No helping anyone.

The United Kingdom has long been one of the staunchest allies of the US. And the United States one of the staunchest allies of the United Kingdom.

But if Democrats such as Pelosi have their way, that relationship may be history.

Given the rabid anti-Americanism shown by other countries in Europe, one can hardly expect the American populace to support Pelosi and company should they even consider helping any country in Europe.

Pelosi's delay of the resolution supporting the British may be the first sign that many in America are getting ready to pull up the drawbridge and let Europe go it on its own.

Europeans who object to American interventionism may have their wishes satisfied. And they may fully expect no support from America if they need help.
