Gdansk Poland
Representatives of the Belgian firm that lost its diamonds sat forlornly in its small booth today with empty cases that were closely examined by fair attendees who apparently could not believe that a million and a half dollars in diamonds would have been displayed in such a small area.
The company lost 230 diamonds.
The diamonds had been stored in a safe but taken out and given to an unauthorized person.
Artists drawings of that person have been distributed.
The diamonds were insured by the Belgian company that was to display them.
A huge reward of about $7,000 has been offered for information about the theft of the diamonds.
No reward has been offered for the return of the bag because the Police found that already.
