The Polish People and European Should Prepare For A Shift In US Support For Poland And Europe
Warsaw, Poland, 31 March, 2007 Poland's Government may be relying on the fact that the past several US administrations have either supported military operations in Europe or in support of the defense of Europe. But things may be changing. The Polish people should be careful as to how they plan their future.
The anti-war movement in the US, and a large percentage of the American people, are more and more dissatisfied with spending US taxpayer dollars to separate those around the world who just can't live in peace with each other.
The attitude is to bring the US military home. By bringing the people home the affected countries would learn that they have to start solving their own problems and stop running to the US for help and money.
Many are tired of the attitude, "I will support America, but what do I get for it. Send money."
The current administration under President George W. Bush does not agree to the approach being taken by the Democrats. It has continued to try to provide solutions. They may be good, bad or indifferent, but they are offered solutions. The Democrats have yet to offer a definite plan or solution other than to withdraw.
The American people may have said that President Bush is wrong and that enough is enough. Let the countries of the world stew in their own pots.
Added to the noise are the rabidly anti-American Europeans who despise anything done by the US.
And the Democratic party seems to agree with them and is headed down the path to withdrawing America from the world.
It is even refusing to express support for America's oldest true ally, England.
PELOSI TO BRITS: DROP DEAD! - Yesterday we wrote about Nancy Pelosi's refusal to allow House Resolution 267, a call for the release of the captured British sailors and marines who are being held in Iran, to be voted on by the House of Representatives. Despite pressure from Republican Congressmen, Pelosi remained adamant and the House adjourned today without considering the resolution...
If Pelosi and her Democrats prevail and a Democrat is elected as the next President of the United States, there are sure to be some changes. And those changes may be a shift in priorities.
Just as the United Kingdom has chosen to mothball most of its Navy to put money into social programs, the Democrats might possibly cut back on military activities and let the world go on its own.
The anti-war movement is an anti-military movement. They do not want a US military. They have no respect for the military.
NATO is a military organization. The anti-war movement is anti-NATO. They are anti-defense of Europe. Europe should be able to spend its own money to defend itself.
According to these people it is time for the US to put its money into social programs and not into defending Europe and getting involved around the world.
Were that to occur, what would happen in the Far East, Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan are anyone's guess. But something would happen and it may not be good for either Europe or Poland.

It is, of course, not possible to predict the future. But it is possible to prepare if you see the handwriting on the wall.
The Democrats in the American Congress are sending a message not only to President Bush. They are sending it to the world.
They are saying that the US should withdraw and let the rest of the world solve its own problems.
Poland should prepare and look out for its own future.
