The "Third Polish Twin" Will Leave Poland With Only Two
Warsaw, Poland 13 February, 2007 The Polish twins that have been running Poland are actually three people. But Ludwik Dorn, known as the "Third Twin" is, after many years, leaving the fold and will leave Poland with only two twins.
Dorn has been such a close confidant of the Kaczynski twins for so long that people who know them call him the Third Twin. It was common to see him sitting between the two at meetings and press conference.
When the party of Kaczynski, Law And Justice, took power in Poland, Dorn was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The Interior Ministry is a particularly powerful Ministry. From there Dorn could control a lot for Kaczynski.
But things have soured for Dorn. He resigned as Interior Minister for reasons unknown. There is a lot of speculation, but as more information becomes available, it seems that there are many and no one knows what the real ones are.
His replacement, Janusz Kaczmarek, made public information that Dorn is under investigation.
Rzeczpospolita wrote on Feb 10th that Deputy Chief of Police Waldemar Jarczewski had unclear connections with Henryk Stoklosa , a senator that is currently wanted by the police. Jaroslaw Marzec, head of Warsaw office of CBS. was looking into these connections He was supported by Janusz Kaczmarek who at the time was the Country Prosecutor.
Jarczewski was supposed to have looked for protection from Dorn against Marzec.
Also Kaczmarek told Polish http://www.wprost.pl Wprost Gazeta that when Dorn was the Minister of Interior, the Ministry didn't cooperate with the Prosecutor in fighting the "Uklad Warszawski". See Will Poland be rebuilt or will it be destroyed?
Because Kaczmarek went public with comments, Dorn wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski and announced that in the present "unacceptable" situation he cannot perform the duties of Deputy Prime Minister. http://wiadomosci.gazeta.pl/wiadomosci/1,53600,3913378.html
He also referred to statements made by fellow cabinet members, which he found unfairly critical.
Dorn has asked the Prime Minister to give him holidays until the end of investigation of him and his coworkers.
Kaczynski has said that he does not want Dorn to leave his position.
But Dorn is obviously not happy. The decision is likely to be his. And it is not likely that he will ever again consider himself the Third Twin.
