Poland: Partner Search For Department Of Health
Warsaw, Poland 21 February, 2007 On behalf of The Department of Health of the Marshal Office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, Poland please find attached the details of a partner search for a project under the Public Health 2007-2013 Programme.
The Department of Health of the Marshal Office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship is looking for partners to participate in a European joint funded project .
Subject - Promotion of healthy behaviour patterns among adolescents, adults and elderly including physical activity and healthy diet habits.

Programme/Initiative - Public Health 2007-2013
Partnership collaboration with Local governments, schools, health care institutions, senior clubs, universities
Project description - Several surveys performed in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region (Poland) clearly indicate that the predominant chronic diseases in the region are cardiovascular diseases, cancer and diabetes. Importantly, all of these diseases are associated with unhealthy behavioral habits (low level of physical activity, unhealthy diet). They constitute the major public health problem not only in our region but increasingly throughout Europe.
Providing the organizational framework for change in the unhealthy habits may be a crucial step towards solving the problem. Such a “health promotion and education center” should engage in both direct promotion of healthy behaviors (habits) and preparation of skilled professionals in the field of fitness and diet.
Due to different health care standards and experience in different countries, it would be beneficial for different centers to collaborate. The collaboration would result in standardizing methods of health promotion, enriching educational offer and facilitate cross-cultural exchange.
