Poland In Uproar Over False Report Released By Polish Government
Warsaw, Poland 19 February, 2007 Poland's President authorized the release by the Polish Government of a report concerning the Military Intelligence services but, apparently unknown to him, the report that he has differs from the one that was released to the public. The country is in an uproar.
Yesterday Deputy Prime Minister Andrej Lepper cryptically said that the much touted report on the Military Intelligence services was a dud but tomorrow there will be a big political scandal.

Two names were removed from and a sentence added to the copy of the report issued to the public.
One of the names is that of a man who was appointed by the President's party, Law and Justice, to the head of a "local media."
The other is that of a man who heads a large foundation.
A sentence was added after the name of another man named in the report. The sentence says that he contests what is in the report about him.
Who changed the report and why it was changed are not yet known.

According to the Prime Minister the changes that were made were made to protect Poland's security.
The Prime Minister considers the alarming media reports an exaggeration.
The Prime Minister intends to examine the matter in detail.
Legal experts suggest that the changes may be a criminal act.
