Polish Minister Of Justice Saves Town's Economy

After a private Polish television station, TVN, revealed that the economy of a town in Poland had been devastated when a factory, harassed by criminals, had to shut down and lay off all its employees because of ineffective police protection, the Minister of Justice stepped in and the factory has reopened.

The factory, Wtorpol from Skarzysko Kamienna, is the largest distributors of used clothing in Poland. It employs over 900 people around Poland.

According to the TVN report, trucks were burned out, the factory broken into many times and the owner's car blown up.

The owner said that the police had not done anything effective to help him.

The employees were sympathetic to the owner when he told them that for reasons of safety of all them, he had to shut the company down.

The employees blamed the police and not the owner. One employee questioned what kind of police force they had when all the businesses in town had to pay a protection fee.

Minister Ziobro, of the political party Law and Justice, and one of the most popular politicians in Poland, stepped in almost immediately.

The second day after the factory's plight was aired on TVN, the factory was opened.

The owner has personal police protection. The factory has heavy police patrols.

The people are back to work and the town's economy is back on its feet.

The Minister of Justice has demanded a full report.

People are back to work simply because of an enterprising station and an effective Minister of Justice who knows how to act quickly.
