Polish Election Polls Shrinking Opposition Lead

The latest elections poll run by the Polish business daily Rrzecpospolita shows the lead held by opposition party Civic Platform to have decreased to 3 percent. Were Poland to have elections now, only four parties would return to Poland's Parliament.

The Civic Platform maintained its position and 30 percent but the Law and Justice Party, lead by Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, saw a 4 percent improvement and moved up to 27 percent support.

The League of Polish Families, lead by Roman Giertych who has had a lot of negative press lately, would only get the support of 1 percent of the people.

Parties that would be returned to the Polish Parliament are Civic Platform, Law and Justice, SLD/SDPL and Samoobrona.
