Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski said today in Poland's Parliament that the elected President of Warsaw lost her mandate to govern at the moment she was late in filing her husband's financial statement.

Poland's local governments are in turmoil and the country faces many new local elections after newly elected officials failed to file financial statements in accordance with a hastily passed new election law.

Hanna Gronkiewicz-Walcz, elected President of Warsaw, says that the law does not apply to her husbands financial statement because he did not have a business registered in Warsaw.

The Prime Minister says that his party does not yet have a candidate for the new elections.
