Sudden Winter Stuns Poland - More Snow To Come

Winter suddenly descended on Poland this week as weather changed from a season of spring like weather to mid winter Polish weather that saw temperatures drop to well below freezing and snow dumped on the country. Today snow will fall in Northern Poland while the remainder of the country will enjoy clear weather until snow comes again tonight.

The weekend weather forecasts call for snow and temperatures in the low 20's Fahrenheit. Early next week the weather should clear, but the temperatures will remain below freezing.

The country is recovering from the storms that hit it this week. Airports were shut down, schools closed, roads blocked and power lines downed. Police reported over 130 road accidents that injured over 170 people and killed 12.

Poland was lucky to get the back end of the weather. Europe was hit harder.

Travelers are advised to be prepared for cold snowy weather in Europe and Poland over the next week.
