Poland's Prime Minister has once again made an empty threat about ending the Polish Government Coalition after being cornered by the minority partners prior to the vote for the President of the National Bank Of Poland.

Kaczynski has been threatening the breakup of the coalition and new elections from even before the Coalition was formed. The parties have settled their differences each time and the Government has survived.
The latest spat between the partners started with the resignation of Archbishop Wielgus and ended with the League of Polish Families getting significant concessions from Kaczynski. See
Just after the elections in 2005, Kaczynski had the upper hand and the minor parties did his bidding. But the minor parties have come to see that Kaczynski is as afraid of facing the voters as they are. So now they are more demanding.
The current polls in Poland show the opposition party Civic Platform leading Kaczynski's party Law And Justice. And the minority parties are on the edge of not being returned to the Parliament should elections be held.
That leaves Kaczynski no room to maneuver. In order to get anything done, he needs the minority parties inside or outside the Government. He may break the Coalition and remove the cars and perks that the minority parties have. But he is going to give them what they want to survive any vote of no confidence against him and his Government.
Self interest rules the day. It has in the past and it still rules today. See
Coalition members do not want new elections, and that includes Kaczynski.
He can huff and he can puff, but he is not going to blow his party down.
