Poland to host the European figure skating Championships

Poland will host the European figure skating Championships which will be held in Warsaw, Poland January 23rd thru January 28th. This is the first time that Poland has been host to this annual event.

The championships are sanctioned by the International Skating Union. The event is the oldest of five annual skating championships.
Warsaw, Poland is home to one of the most advanced sports facilities in Europe that is routinely used for events such as ice hockey, ice dancing, ice skating, curling, and many other sports events. Locally known as Towar, the facility is close to the city center and the major hotels in Warsaw. It is conveniently accessed by public transportation and is easily reachable by private cars.
Towar has seats for 4800 people. There are two buildings. For the European Ice Skating Championships, one will house the ice skating competition and the second will be used by the skaters for their practice sessions.
Skaters will compete for medals in the categories ice dancing, pairs, mens’ and ladies'.
First-time visitors to Warsaw will find that it is a city of contrasts and that they will be able to find things to do and things to see regardless of what their life style.
