New Polish elections a joke according to Deputy Prime Minister
Warsaw, Poland September 20, 2006. Poland Deputy Prime Minister Roman Giertych commented that the new Polish elections would be a joke. According to Giertych, very little would change in the Polish parliament and things would continue just as they are now
According to recent poll results, were new elections in Poland to be held, the major parties party would be returned to parliament in approximately the same numbers. The election polls show that it is possible that the now opposition party Civic Platform would hold the most number of seats in the Polish parliament and the current majority party Law and Justice only a few seats less in number.
There would be some change in the minority parties in that Roman Giertych's party would not be in the Parliament.
Giertych's assessment is in line with comments made by other observers about the approval of the Polish budget requiring the cooperation of the two major parties, Law and Justice and Civic Platform, that are now openly at political war.
See Poland's budget will force a new coalition of enemies
