Warsaw, Poland September 9, 2006. Polish President Lech Kaczynski has been criticized for putting pressure on a Polish judge by criticizing her comments rendered during a ruling on the spy case involving former Polish Financial Minister Zyta Gilowska.
The Polish judge on the Zyta Gilowska spy trial created for herself much negative publicity because of the gratuitous charges that she made against Zyta Gilowska after rendering any verdict of not guilty.
Negative comments about what she did have been made by many people.
And President Kaczynski stepped into fray by remarking about the judge's political background.
The judge is the daughter of a former editor of a communist newspaper. And anything communist related is bad to the President.
And many negative comments have been made about what the President did.
President Lech Kaczynski and his Prime Minister brother, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, have been very critical of the judge's in various courts in Poland.
Opposition politicians and legal scholars do not feel that it is proper for the President and Prime Minister to be putting pressure on judges through public commentary
