Poland's political dirty war is about to be swept under the rug

Classified Polnews

Warsaw, Poland July 4, The Polish Prime Minister invited the Finance Minister that he recently dismissed to return to the Polish government as a Deputy Prime Minister. His invitation was turned down.

Zyta Gilowska was dismissed from her position as Minister of Finance for Poland by Polish Prime Minister Kaszimierz Marcinkiewicz when charges were filed to the Polish vetting court which charges alleged that she lied on her vetting statement. The Prime Minister immediately dismissed her thereby removing her ability to defend herself in court because as soon she was removed from her position she was no longer a public person and the vetting court was not obligated to hear her case and in fact it was incumbent on the vetting court to drop her case.

Gilowska said she was subject to political blackmail and has asked the public prosecutor to look into this matter. Minister of interior, Wasserman, has said that he thinks there was some involvement by some people from some special services in arranging her dismissal. Leader of the government ruling coalition party Law and Justice Jaroslaw Kaczynski said that she was subjected to pressure. Gilowska said that this was the result of her trying to pass laws that would affect money laundering in Poland and that would further affect the income of the Polish fuel Mafia.

Unless the Polish Prime Minister pushes forward with the particular changes to the tax laws that Zyta Gilowska was trying to push forward to affect the Polish fuel Mafia and money launderers, it is not only Zyta Gilowska who will have lost in this matter but also the Polish people.

The government opposition party Civic Platform has called for a parliamentary investigating committee to look into this. But the ruling coalition party, of which the Prime Minister is a member, does not want an open investigation but instead want an investigation by the public prosecutor which investigation by its very nature is a private and not subject to public scrutiny.

If Zyta Gilowska presses forward and is able to have her case brought before the vetting court maybe she can force the information about the details of Poland dirty political war to be made public. If not, the Polish people will probably end up being the ultimate losers in this case.
