The womens' war in the Polish president's office

Warsaw, Poland June 30, 2006 While the Polish government opposition party Civic Platform accuses the ruling government party of waging a dirty political war, another little war is raging in the president's office. How the Polish president will come out in this war is anyone's guess.

The Polish President, Lech Kaczynski, brought to his Chancellery two women who had worked with him when he was the President of Warsaw. One of the women he assigned as his gatekeeper and she is to set his schedule and determine who gets to see the President. The other he has assigned to oversee his relations with special services and to manage his schedule with them.

But it appears that there is a conflict between these two women. Things have gotten so bad in the President's office that he has had two meetings scheduled at a time. One woman schedules a meeting and doesn't tell the other and the other woman does the same.

They have gone to the point of not inviting each other to scheduled meetings.

Reportedly the President asked his wife to intervene. But it seems that she has not been able to help the situation.

Before Urbanski was dismissed from the President's Chancellery, he acted as the referee. But with him gone from the President's Chancellery the problem is now squarely in the President's lap.

So until the President forces the warring parties to make peace, when you set your next meeting with the President of Poland be sure to be ready to have a conflict with another meeting that may have been set by someone else.
