Classified Polnews

Warsaw, Poland June 28, 2006 Poland's Minister of Finance, Zyta Gilowska, was dismissed when a case in the vetting court was opened against her based on new testimony that was provided to the vetting court spokesman. That case has caused a furor in Poland and the news journalists are digging into the case and as they do, new details are emerging.

The Polish daily newspaper Zycie Warszawy found out that Gilowska ordered a list of collaborators that are still working in the Ministry of Finance. It was supposed to be the same as Interior Minsiter Ludwik Dorn had done for the Ministry of Interior.

The list was supposed to be ready at the end of June.

Zycie Warszawy said that the reason that the vetting spokesman filed Gilowska's case to the vetting court was that he obtained some new testimony from a witness or witnesses. This is the "new evidence" in her case.

Today Prime Minister Marcinkiewicz asked on public television station TVN 24 why these testimonies showed up now?

Gilowska has previously said that she had been trying to pass legislation which legislation would have hurt the Polish fuel Mafia and that she was subjected to blackmail prior to being dismissed.
