Polish political party Samoobrona cries foul
Warsaw, Poland March 31, 2006 - the Polish political party Samoobrona, through its leader Andrzej Lepper, has cried that there has been a provocation In older to prevent Samoobrona from going into coalition with the ruling political party Law and Justice.
At a press conference, a very agitated Andrzej Lepper claimed that the publication of an article in the newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza, which article discloses information that the political party Samoobrona may have been involved in an illegal political financing scheme, was part of an effort to prevent him from going into coalition with the Law and Justice Party.
Andrzej Lepper questioned as to whether the Polish special security services were involved in this provocation, he questioned as to whether the Polish Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz was involved, and he generally asked about the reason for this sudden disclosure by the newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza.
A former member of the political party Samoobrona, who enjoyed first position on the Samoobrona election list during the last elections, was asked how he came to have first position on that election list. He commented that there is, of course, first the financial option. And then there was also the possibility that Andrzej Lepper liked him so much that he put him in first position on the election must.
According to Andrzej Lepper there are many people behind this provocation who are determined to keep him from becoming the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland.
