Poland Unemployment Up
Warsaw, Poland 23 February, 2006 - Unemployment in Poland during the month of January increased by 94,000 people above the number unemployed in December, 2005. Unemployment now stands at 18%.
The Polish Government Statistical Office said that it increased .4% and was broadly based. Some say that the increase is a normal seasonal variation.
Improving the unemployment situation was one of the pre-election promises of the ruling Polish government. The Polish President express dissatisfaction yesterday with the Polish government for not implementing the pre-election promises.
