One of the main facts about Poland is that Poland is not what most people think it to be and it is not what is presented by its promotors. It is a diverse country made up of distinct regions and distinct cultures. And it is a mix of the old and new.
The distinction is most vivid when comparing the small country towns to the modern cities. But even in the cities the distinction exists.
And as you do your research, you will find that there are people from an old Poland and people from a new Poland living side by side but in different cultures.
When you are planning a trip to Poland, do be sure to take the time to think through completely exactly what you would like to see or do when you come to the country.
There are many interesting things of historical relevance, museums, operas, theaters and so on.
But there was also some excellent fishing, hunting, hiking and boating.
And then in the major cities, the nightlife continues through the night to day life where you can party until you drop.
People who visit Poland often visit Poland and see only the cities. By doing this they get a very narrow view or actually only a snapshot of a small portion of Poland.
Visiting Warsaw or visiting Krakow and assuming that they are typical of Poland is like visiting New York City and assuming that it is typical of the United States. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
The people vary from region to region. The mountain folk who lives in the Tatra Mountains in Southern Poland live in a world of their own. Their local dialect to some different that even many Polish people have difficulty understanding them.
In the master page we have tried to highlight many of these differences. We have taken snapshots of many regions around the country and presented information about those particular snapshots.
We have grown the Master Page by answering questions. If you need information about a particular topic or a particular region, please contact us and tell us what you need. Of course we ask first to review what is in our website and use the particular request forms for particular information.
